    Description

Located on the shore of the clear water Deadwood Reservoir.  Although the setting is beautiful, the approach to this airstrip is over the lake and the runway is quite steep.  Once on the ground, power must be maintained to carry your airplane up the hill.   I've heard of aircraft that stopped on the hill and had to have a truck tow them to the top.  Also, a road crosses the runway at the top end, so check for vehicles before you land.  Parking is located at the top end, and there is at least one set of tie downs (rebar).

    Camping
There are multiple campgrounds near the airstrip: Cozy Cove, Howers, Barney's, and Riverside.  A simple Forest Service cabin is also available through prior reservation.  Contact the Lowman Ranger District for more information (208)259-3361.

    Fishing
The lake is said to contain trout, kokanee, Atlantic salmon, and whitefish.

Flight into Big Creek airstrip Idaho U60. The elevation is 5,700ft and the runway is long at 3,500ft surrounded by 9,000ft+ mountains. The ski jump runway and close in mountain slopes look to be a challenge but is not that tough. On take off one is literally launched into the air and out into the valley high above Big Creek The location is very isolated and beautiful spot for a fly in camping trip. The impressive new lodge should be open later this year. We will be back for a longer stay.

The Miami River evolved over thousands of years from a tidal channel into a freshwater stream that carried water from the Everglades to Biscayne Bay. It is the oldest natural landmark in Southeast Florida. The 5.5-mile (8.9 km) long river flows from the terminus of the Miami Canal at Miami International Airport to Biscayne Bay. The 15-foot deep navigable waterway's shoreline features public riverwalks, city parks, over 7,000 new residential units, 17 restaurants, and 16 historic sites.
