Drive from Lansdale, PA to PHL Philadelphia International Airport in January 2020

Hi everybody, and welcome to my "stevenofpa" YouTube Channel!

This video shows you what it was like to drive from Lansdale Borough, Montgomery County, PA Penna Pensy Pennsy Pennsylvania all the way down to the Philadelphia International Airport, Phila airport, Philly airport, PHL, phillydelphia, or Philadelphia county, delaware county, Tinicum Township, Economy Parking, Long Term Parking, airport parking lot, parking garage, arrivals, departures, american airlines, fly flying inside of an airplane. You can see all the roads that are travelled on, too. Such as: Susquehanna Ave, Whites Road, Valley Forge Rd, PA 463, Sumneytown Pike, the Pennsylvania Turnpike northeast extension Lansdale exit # 20 exit 20 for lansdale Harleysville, also I-476, PA Route 9 PA-9 formerly known as Route 9, the Blue Route, I-95 I95 I 95 I476 I 476, delaware expressway, PA-291 PA Route 291 Island Ave Avenue Derstine Ave Main Street, East Main, West Main, etc...
You can also see many towns along the way like Towamencin Township, Kulpsville, Conshohocken, Ridley, Radnor, Villanova, and the Radnor Cairn at the Exit for Route 30 the main line. The vehicle being driven is a 2006 Chevy Chevrolet Malibu, the front facing camera is a Sony HDR-AS100V, the rear facing camera is a Crosstour CT9500 that was purchased from Amazon for about $100 with an extra set of batteries. It was a waste of money to buy that CT camera, it is garbage. it says that it's HD but it's really not, and the video quality is poor. Also the camera shoots video with a variable frame rate VFR and not a constant rate, so it can't be synced up with the sony camera. That sucks! But at least this video is really good great awesome, tremendous, fabulous, informative, innovative, funny, educational, smart, perfect and suburb. Right? Yes, and that's neato and cool! plus lots of other keywords.

The music that's playing in the background during this video, comes from the YouTube Audio Library. These are the songs, as played in order:
      Elephants - Huma-Huma
      Awakening - Silent Partner
      Motor Hums - The 126ers
      Morning Mist - Quincas Moreira

We're looking through the pilot's windshield while landing at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Runway 33 was in use on this blustery Spring day.

The Beechcraft King Air approaches the airport from the west-northwest on a visual approach and enters a left base to the landing runway. The Delaware River is clearly visible before the airplane turns final. 7:08

      0:23 - Airport Description/Diagram

1:12 - Night Operations. Misidentification of runway 35 is especially problematic for some pilots at night. Many pilots have confused parallel taxiways D and E, which are located on either side of runway 35, with the runway surface itself.

2:24 - Hot Spot 1. Pilots taxiing north or south on taxiway D have missed the fact that the taxiway crosses runway 8-26. The proximity to the general aviation area, and the fact that the taxiway at located at the end of the runway, may contribute to pilots losing situational awareness in this situation.

3:08 - Hot Spot 2. The intersection of taxiway S, S7, S8, and runway 27L-9R can be confusing and has contributed to numerous runway incursions at this location.

3:58 - Hot Spot 3. While runway 8 is not used for arrivals, runway 26 is. The overrun area for runway 26 extends past taxiway E, where the approach hold signage is located. This is a hot spot, because pilots can easily overlook this approach hold area and fail to hold short while on taxiway E.

4:48 - Hot Spot 4. This busy area contains the intersection of two major taxiways, bounded by two busy runway surfaces. Pilots must always be aware of their location on the airfield, and the use of moving electronic maps may help pilots maintain situational awareness in these surface configurations.

We hope this short video will assist you in your trip to Philadelphia, PA (PHL).
