KERN VALLEY, CA

This is a wonderful place to fly into. The airport is about 2-miles form a very nice town with good restaurants and motels. If you like fishing you can walk to the Kern River and fish year around or you can rent a car/Junker from the airport manager and go up river and fly fish for the big ones. There is also a very big river rafting community in town. Camping at the field also available at a very nice camp ground maintained by the airport manager. As of January 2009 NO AV-GAS at the field. The local pilots association is trying to fix that but it will take a while.
