    Description

A strange public grass strip in Battle Ground. It's pretty long so would be a good intro to grass. There are some tall trees on the North end of the runway. Supposedly there is fuel available.

      GOHEEN airport (W52)

Great privately owned, public use airport. The owner, I was told is a wonderful person.
This airport has quite a few hangars on it, available for rent but, unfortunately, non available, at this time.
The runway (33-15), is in very god condition.
Moose and I stopped and, she got to run around.

landing and, take off at Woodland State Airport
Moose and I made a quick stop, to film it.
The biggest challenge that, many pilots told me were concerned about, is the width of the runway. At 25 feet, it's not wide but, I can reassure all that, it's adequate.
Go check it out and, have fun.
      See you soon.

      Approach and landing Woodland WA.

We eased this one in. It is kind of a tricky airport thanks to a short field, narrow runway and a "Dog leg" approach. But the view is GORGEOUS!!!!!

WACO UPF-7 N29949 landing at Daybreak WA

The small grass landing strip at Daybreak Washington is a little slice of paradise in the Great Pacific Northwest! The airstrip is in a farmers field nested into a bend on the North Fork of the Lewis River. This video was shot with a GoPro Silver 3+ on a helmet mount to give you a pilots eye view of landing a WWII bi plane trainer in a farmers field. If you look in the distance, you can see the snow covered volcanos Mt St Helens and Mt Adams of the Cascade Mountain Range. The Waco UPF-7 was restored 3 years ago by Vintage Flying Service. They did an outstanding job on this restoration. NC29949 has been in the Vancouver Washington Area since 1946 when Wally Olson (Evergreen Airport 59S) purchased her. You can view other videos of the historic day NC29949 flew again for the first time after the full ground up restoration by Vintage Flying Service.

2012 Flight to the Pacific Northwest -- flying into Woodland, WA

Landing at the Woodland, WA airstrip was interesting. Glad both of us were seasoned pilots. You had to be confident and in control.

The runway is 1,900 feet long and 25 ft. wide. Not much different than landing on an aircraft carrier. Well sort of. We didn't have a tail hook to stop fast, nor a catapult to shoot us into the air on take off. We flew to Woodland twice. Once on our way to the Pacific coast and Canada. And again on our journey back to Minnesota.
I also took my niece Steph and her son Brayden for an early morning flight to see their house in Vancouver, WA, and also as a photo op.
