    • Amboy, CA Dirt Airstrip 1 March 2021

Amboy, CA Dirt Airstrip 1 March 2021

Very iconic location in California. My first trip to Amboy. I was able to drive across the road to the post office and golden Buddha. The airstrip was a little bumpy and had a dried stream running through the middle, other wise, not too bad to land on.

We Landed On Route 66! Flying to Amboy, CA In The Bonanza!

Today we fly from Scottsdale, AZ to Amboy, CA with Owen Leipelt (@SJCSpotter). It was crazy to basically land on historic Route 66! It was so much fun exploring this old ghost town and visit Roy's Motel and Cafe! We flew in a 1990 Beechcraft Bonanza A36, which is currently for sale. You've probably seen Matt Guthmiller's video, which inspired us to want to visit as well. Such an amazing trip!

    • Cessna airplane flight from Torrance Airport all the way to Amboy, California

Cessna airplane flight from Torrance Airport all the way to Amboy, California

      Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share an incredible adventure I had this weekend. I took a Cessna airplane flight from Torrance Airport all the way to Amboy, California. That's about 200 miles east on the legendary Old Route 66 Highway.

The flight was amazing! We had a smooth journey out towards Palm Springs. Then we flew north over the otherworldly landscape of Joshua Tree National Park. Finally, we touched down on the dirt airstrip right next to Roy's Cafe in Amboy.

Now, Amboy is a tiny town with a population of just one person. But don't let that fool you, it's a place brimming with character. Roy's Cafe is a must-visit for anyone traveling along Route 66. We grabbed some refreshing sodas and picked up some cool souvenirs.

And guess what? We stumbled upon a fashion photo shoot happening at the gas station! The crew even used our plane as a prop in their shots, which was pretty cool.

Unfortunately, our time in Amboy was cut short by the setting sun. But we had an unforgettable experience and I can't wait to go back again someday. If you're ever looking for a unique adventure, I highly recommend checking out Amboy.

Thanks for watching, and don't forget to subscribe for more travel content!

We explore the abandoned hotel rooms of Roy's Cafe in Amboy, CA (soon to be reopened by a new owner!) on our way to Joshua Tree California to do some work on a tiny house build. While there we also check out the abandoned Amboy School- which was used until 1999.
